FAQs
Am I the only customer who is satisfied by the quality of the Charmin product but is baffled by the confusion of different packaging options?
It is a shame that Charmin has to go to this extreme to “fool” its consumers, most of whom are loyal simply because they love the quality of the product. I have found the easiest way for me to determine the best value when purchasing Charmin is to note that the one constant is they all show the comparable number of regular rolls each package would equal.
The regular roll amount is the amount you want to compare. Take the cost of the package and divide it by the number of regular rolls it would be equal to and that is the amount you are paying per roll. Compare the cost per roll of each of the various packages to see if you are getting a good deal. They confuse us by saying 8 Mega rolls = 24 regular rolls or 8 Super Mega Rolls = 36 regular rolls, etc. (my roll amounts are used as an example only).
How many square feet are in each package?
Total square feet would be the price per unit divided by cents per square foot. For instance: Walmart’s price indicates $17.88 for each unit. Then, shows 2.8 cents/SQUAREFOOT. So, divide the unit price by cents per square foot: 17.88/0.028 = 638.57.
So, the big deal about this is, that when packaged to highlight the number of rolls per package, or “5x more sheets per roll”, in the end, what I want to know is “How many TOTAL square feet per package” – the number of rolls or a number of squares per package is not a clear indication of the product I am getting for my money.
Why do they only sell mega rolls? they are too big to fit in my bathroom holder. I want regular-size rolls.
I have the same problem but I’m stubborn and will either use a small section of the roll while off of the holder (which, I get, is far from ideal) or jam it on there and turn the roll slowly (also not ideal). I’m sure there are regular-size rolls if they specify that these are Mega Rolls.
Is this limited to one per customer? If not, it definitely should be.
After I ordered mine, it wasn’t available afterward. I agree. I think people buy and turn around to sell at a hefty price. It’s wrong!
